Look to my right and see, no one is concerned for me. I have no refuge; no one cares for my life.
A cold hard truth.
We can’t expect people to treat us perfectly all the time. When we do, we cause them to fall farther than they would have on their own. Humans are flawed creatures. Humans are selfish. Humans will always look out for number one; no matter how good their intentions. This goes for me, and you, as well. I am trying to be a self LESS person but in my attempt, I end up bearing selfishness.
“Look to my right and see; no one is concerned for me. I have no refuge; no one cares for my life.” – The Bible.
The Author David intends to tell us that we can’t count on our flawed brothers. When we put pressure on our friends, or family, to be heros, we set them up for failure. We are asking selfish entities to be unselfish towards our inner selfishness. Do you see the problem? We are being selfish by asking another selfish being to care for us. If we were truly selfless we wouldn’t be so concerned for ourselves. Put your trust and hope in the Lord, he is the only one who can bear you burdens. He is the only one who purely cares for you.
